CHAPEL HILL, NC - NBA executives scrambled to mobilize general managers, scouts and other team employees capable of evaluating college talent after Friday's announcement that the entire student body of the University of North Carolina has decided to follow in the footsteps of fellow students Rashad McCants, Sean May, Raymond Felton and Marvin Williams and declare themselves eligible for the NBA draft.

"We've suddenly got a lot more prospects to go through," said New York Knicks president Isaiah Thomas. "There's about 16,000 undergraduates alone that we've got to check out, and we don't want to miss anybody."

"I don't really follow basketball that much," said sophomore political science major Brianna Skyler, 19, of Richmond, Virginia. "But, pretty much everybody else at UNC was going into the NBA draft, so, I thought, 'Why not?' I can always finish school later. My dad was pretty mad, though."

North Carolina men's basketball coach Roy Williams, who captured his first ever national title with the Tar Heels only weeks ago, admitted that the mass draft declaration could mean an uphill battle for next year's team.

"It's going to be tougher next year that it was this year, that's for sure," Williams told reporters this week, "seeing as how all our starters, our team managers, the cheerleaders, the band and all of the fans won't be here. But we feel pretty good about our incoming freshman, so we should at least be able to content in the ACC."
